Event: E3 Business Expo

On Wednesday 5th April, our team travelled to Bolton’s Macron Stadium to attend the E3 Business Expo organised by 1Events Media. The one day event took place inside the stadiums premier suite and more than 60 stalls filled the room.

Exhibitors demonstrated a variety of new products and technologies to help overcome the difficulties of running a successful company and over 500 representatives visited the stalls throughout the day.

Business cards were collected and we enjoyed interacting with other exhibitors and exploring what other companies had to offer.

How We Got Involved at the Business Expo

After setting up our stand, Mubarak Chati (managing director of 1Events Media) started the event with a welcome speech and offered an introduction about what the expo would include and how we could get involved.

Speed Networking

Two speed networking sessions were run during the event that gave all exhibitors the opportunity to talk about their company and the services they provide.

Lucy, our creative director, started by attending the first speed networking session of the day.

Speed networking follows the same format as speed dating but allows companies that provide a variety of services to interact and gives them the chance to meet potential customers.

It gave us the chance to get to know about other businesses in our industry and socialise with other exhibitors. Each networking session was an hour long.

Seminars

Nine days before the business expo we took on a digital marketing apprentice called Eve.

As she’s new to the role of online marketing, we felt that listening to the seminars would be beneficial to her as it enabled her to gain a greater understanding of what digital marketing is and how it benefits businesses.

The seminars covered topics such as:

  • Q&A on the future of digital marketing
  • How content draws in more customers
  • Q&A on maximising ROI on social media platforms

Each seminar was lead by industry experts and highlighted the most important aspects of using digital marketing in business.

Visitors

At 10:30am the doors were opened to visitors that explored the stands gathering information about the exhibitors and collecting business cards.

The visitors came from a variety of different sectors and ranged from freelancers to CEO’s.

Exhibitors

In total, 64 exhibitors attended the business expo.

Exhibitors varied from digital marketing agencies and training providers to car dealerships and IT solutions.

Our Prize Draw

During the event, we collected business cards from each of the exhibitors and visitors we’d interacted with and as the event was drawing to a close we did a prize draw.

All of the business cards we collected were put into a jar and Eve picked out the two lucky winners at random.

The prizes on offer consisted of a giant Thornton’s Easter egg and a £50 Costa Coffee gift card.

Final Thoughts

1Events Media did a wonderful job organising the event and we really enjoyed attending. We feel that we gained some valuable knowledge and have every intention of attending the business expo next year as well.
