Project Brief
Be Body Positive is a national project led by East London Foundation Trust (ELFT) and partners ELBA, Barnardo’s and NELFT. Designed to be an early intervention tool for young people with body image concerns. The tool also provides content for parents, carers and professionals who work with young people.
After a successful bid process, our team were awarded the contract to design, develop and maintain the Be Body Positive website. Following the contract award, our team utilised our experience in creating bespoke designs to create a unique learning tool for a wide range of audience groups, including the incorporation of animation, quiz formats and interactive games throughout the website. A key element of the project involved numerous focus groups and feedback events where our team, alongside partners, spoke directly with the target audience to ensure we were creating a learning platform that exceeded expectations.

The website required custom development but also the ability and functions of any modern CMS, to us WordPress was the obvious solution. We created a bespoke design alongside custom WordPress plugins, on time and within budget, managing to save the trust a substantial cost going forward on the hosting and maintenance of their website.
Our ongoing relationship with the BBP team and partners includes continuing to maintain the website and add new resources and learning tools to the website. Our design and development teams work with the project board on a monthly basis to continually develop the website and provide the most up to date content for young people, parents/carers and professionals requiring help with supporting young people with body image concerns.

A key element of the project involved designing and developing animated slides with elements for users to interact. Examples of these include quizzes, interactive charts and bespoke diagrams for users to fill out.

As part of the process, our development team worked towards and achieved WCAG 2.1 compliance and maintain this standard with our maintenance and support work.
